REAL LIFE USE CASES

1. A commercial bank with IT/OT separation
Requirement:
  • File sanitization applied to all incoming content channels.
  • Unidirectional isolation of the OT network.
  • Additional file cleansing inside the OT network to overcome IT employee vulnerability.
  • Files sent to external website undergo redaction of sensitive metadata.
GateScanner (GS) modules:
  • The IT network is protected by GateScanner Mail that is inserted between the secure mail gateway and the email server – and by GateScanner Kiosk that disarms incoming files from portable devices.
  • Imported files from Gatescanner Kiosk undergo additional processing by the kiosk, to redact sensitive metadata before being published to the web portal.
  • The OT network is protected by a GateScanner Multi-source positioned between the IN and OUT ports of a GateScanner Injector unidirectional optical gateway. Additionally, a GateScanner Kiosk is implemented as a separate entry point to the OT, to enable safe importing of critical updates from portable media.
2. External tools integrations
Requirement:
  • Incorporate a sandbox solution in addition to GateScanner CDR tools.
GateScanner (GS) modules:
  • GateScanner API and GateScanner Mail intercept incoming files and messages, sending them to processing by multiple GateScanner CDR engines.
  • GateScanner external tool integration module sends the files out from the GS engines for additional processing by the sandbox environment, before returning them to their respective data streams and final destinations.

3. Multi-route integration

Requirement:
  • File sanitization applied to multiple incoming channels – web uploads, web downloads, portable media and email
GateScanner (GS) modules:
  • GateScanner API and GateScanner Mail intercept incoming files and messages, sending them to processing by multiple GateScanner CDR engines.
  • GateScanner Desktop on user station sends the files from USB ports to GS engines for processing before returning them to their internal destinations.
